Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SiamKeys ("the app", "we") collects and how it is used. By using the app you agree to it.

1. Using the app as a guest

You can use SiamKeys without an account. In that case your progress, statistics and settings are stored only on your own device.

2. Information we collect when you sign in

If you choose "Sign in with Google", Google shares your name and email address with us through our authentication provider (Supabase). We use them only to identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.

3. Information saved on our server

While you are signed in, the following is saved so that your progress follows you across devices:

• your display name, total score, characters typed and overall accuracy
• per-lesson results (accuracy, speed, number of plays)
• your lesson statistics, such as weak characters and recent lessons, and your app settings
• your leaderboard nickname, your level cat, and whether you are shown in the rankings

4. Leaderboard

When you sign in, you can choose a nickname and join the rankings. Only if you join, your nickname, level cat, best typing speed (WPM) and accuracy are shown to other users. Your Google name, profile photo and email address are never shown. You can change your nickname or leave the rankings at any time in Profile; you then disappear from the board immediately. Using the app as a guest does not add you to the rankings.

5. Third-party services

• Supabase hosts our authentication and database.
• Google AdMob serves the ads shown on mobile (see section 6).
• Google provides sign-in. Some audio may be generated by Google Text-to-Speech, and the Thai Note "Trans" button sends the text you ask to translate to Google Translate or, when Google is busy, to MyMemory (a service of Translated, mymemory.translated.net). Text you type in Thai Note is otherwise kept on your device.
• ExchangeRate-API and Frankfurter provide the currency rates in the Exchange tool. The app downloads the rates from them; like any web request this reveals your IP address to them, but no account data or typing records are sent.
• Netlify hosts this website and may keep standard server logs of visits.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

6. Advertising

On mobile devices the app shows ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use your device's advertising ID and similar identifiers, along with approximate location derived from your IP address, to select, deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. This happens in the ad SDK on your device; we do not give advertisers your name, email address, typing records or leaderboard data.

• Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before requesting ads. You can review or change your choice later with Ad choices in the app menu.
• You can reset or turn off personalised ads in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads). See also how Google uses data from partner apps.

7. Retention and deletion

Server data is kept until you delete your account. In the app, open Profile → Delete account to permanently remove your account and the data stored on our server. Data stored on your device stays until you clear the app's data.

8. Children

SiamKeys is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information or show them personalised ads. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and access to saved records is restricted to the signed-in owner. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. If we introduce new data uses, we will describe them here first.
